Windows 10 will no longer receive security updates from October 2025. If you are still using Windows 10 then it is the right time to make decision that how you want to move forward. If you have the latest computer which can run Windows 11 than you should upgrade to Windows 11.
If your computer is not compatible with Windows 11 and you don't want to buy or upgrade to a new PC then you have only one option left that is using Windows 10 LTSC IOT version. Or you can also try the Windows 11 LTSC IOT which can run on any hardware. But we will go with Windows 10 as I am using it and is more stable than Windows 11 at the time.
Why Use Windows 10 LTSC IOT?
Windows 10 LTSC IOT is the enterprise version which will receive security updates till 2032. So you will have 7 more years to upgrade to a new PC. If you only use your computer for watching media and light web browsing then you are set till 2032 but if you have some special needs like using latest version of the software then you may have to think twice as the companies can drop the support of their software for Windows 10.

Advantages of Windows 10 LTSC IOT
I have been using Windows 10 LTSC IOT from the past 1 year and to be honest it is the best version I have ever used of Windows 10. I have noticed some advantages compared to the regular version:
- You will get security updates till 2032
- No/Less bloatware compared to other versions
- No Microsoft Store (You can install it if you want)
Things you should not do
I have created the list of some things to avoid, saving your time:
- Don't fall for LINUX distros
- Don't keep using “regular” Windows versions after their End Of Life (EOL)
Linux distros are not a proper alternative for Windows OS. It does not have a wide range of software available and most of the software which are available can't be called as alternative to windows software. Plus the Linux Desktop is not as polished as Windows, if you are a basement dweller and don't have any life then installing Linux on your hardware can be the best time killer.
